Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) applications are one of the greenhouse gas emissions sources , included under the industrial processes category as defined by the IPCC guidelines. In Europe, HFCs emissions coming from refrigeration and air conditioning applications accounts for almost 2% of total declared GHGs emissions.
This section will provide:
1 - A description of all the technologies in use in each RAC application, focusing on Europe,
2 - An analysis of the new technologies in development by application,
3 - Fact sheets to summarize each technology and help comparisons,
4 - A focus on alternative technologies to those using high GWP HFC; this part will be based on the analysis of the new technologies and the technologies in use in other countries outside Europe.
